Georgia Shag Rug
The Georgia Shag Rug - a handtufted periwinkle and pink soft cream wool rug
Our wool is sourced from Moroccan sheep, and brought in to be carded, spun, and then dyed with natural dyes as herbes, spices (curcuma e.g.) and roots (like from the madder plant as here for the pink).
Every women weaver has her way of dyeing and no recipe is alike. This means, every batch of wool is unique, and no two rugs are alike.
It took 6 weeks to this woman weaver to handtuft this Georgia natural cream wool rug.
The living wage from this rug enabled her and and her family to live from this ancestral know how that we want to protect !
